For many years Lodz remains a multicultural city co-created by Poles, Jews, Germans and Russians. And although more nationalities or ethnic groups could be distinguished among the inhabitants of Łódź in the 19th century, as they can be distinguished today, these four historical cultures have left an impression that cannot be ignored. For 15 years, Lodz of Four Cultures Festival brings these four cultures together, tells about its place in the culture, architecture and history of the city. The 11th edition of the Łódź Design Festival is coming back to Lodz! Event will take place from 3rd to 8th October. Expect interesting exhibitions, lectures, discussion panels and workshops contemporary design. It is the most important international design event in Central and Eastern Europe focusing on industrial design, art and craft design, graphic design and architecture, and even fashion.  The event is organized not only for professionals from the design industry, but for anyone who likes to creatively spend time, regardless of age or profession. One of the most important points of the festival is Educreation - a zone for families with children. The youngest participants can attend workshops in the field of 3D printing, building robots or even programming and coding. Children also can participate in design lessons in the form of guided walks on selected exhibitions, the City and Forest exhibition, and an interactive calendar that brings you closer to the natural world. This year one of the most renowned Jazz Festivals in Europe will take place on October 5-7. And just like last year legendary American saxophonist Greg Osby has taken place as artistic director! Greeg bets on variety of musicians from all corners of the world, different generations of artists as well as broader involvement of woman in jazz. This year skilled artists from 14 countries and 5 continent will participate in the program. On July fifteenth, fourteen ten, on the fields of Grunwald (north-east Poland), the combined Polish and Lithuanian forces clashed with the Teutonic Order and its mercenaries. It was one of the largest medieval battles in the history of Europe. The staging will begin on July 16, 2016.
The 14th February, St Valentine's Day, is celebrated in a special way in Chełmno, the reason being the relics of Saint Valentine which have lain in the Phara Church in Chełmno for many centuries.

The First Festival took place in 1988 and its program focused on a scholarly conference on the encounter between two cultures, Jewish and Polish. It was a modest occasion but it turned out to have enormous significance, considering the boldness of the subject matter, upon which the communist authorities of the day looked askance.

There are films, performances, presentations, and exhibitions to see and stories told by the Jews about their culture to listen to. The Festival is a span of the symbolic bridge where Poles and Jews meet to strengthen the process of understanding and reconciliation. The Jewish Culture Festival in Cracow is, after all, a symbol of tolerance, pluralism, and the faith that we have a chance, through the celebration of Jewish culture and the celebration of life, to build mutual relations based on truth and respect. 20th Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow will introduce this year scientific conference dedicated to contemporary Jewish world and Jewish culture as vibrant, living phenomenon.
