Fort IV in Torun is a perfect example of Prussian fortress buildings of XIXth century. It is a part of fortress system surrounding the City.
Fort IVwas built in 1878-1884 as a third fort of Torun fortress circle. It could contain in total about 800 soldiers and officers.
The role of fort was to defend the junction point Torun-Mokre and Torun-North and the defence of Torun from nort-east side.
