St. Wojciech’s Parish in Poryte, the Stawiski district, was established in 1386. The now existing classical brick and field stone St. Wojciech’s Church was built in 1840 thanks to the foundation of Franciszek Kisielnicki the landlord of Dzierzbia. Earlier there had been a lot of wooden churches in this place. Poryte is one of the oldest villages in the Kolno district.
