Church of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary in Otmęt was already mentioned in 1223. Before this church there was a gotic one. In 1302, it was patronized by Cistercians from Jemielnica. in 1723, there was bought a castle tower for needs of church. In 1902, the church was enlarged by building a presbytery. In 1945, it was burnt and one year later rebuilt again. From the previous chapel there has been only a gothic tower preserved and scarsy elements of XIVth century architecture. The church is surrounded by a stone curtain.
