The summit and slopes of Kamień Mountain, the beech woods, the mixed beech and fir woods and the swamps called „berezednie” are under protection in this reserve. There are found here numerous species of forest fauna like deer, roe deer, wild boar, wolf, lynx, lesser spotted eagle, ural owl, eurasian pygmy owl and black stork. The reserve is also rich in various forms of sandstone rocks (outcropping, blocks, faces) and workings of former quarries.
