It was funded by the Bishop Charles Ferdinand Vasa in 1688-1692.
It is the first Jesuit religious building in Silesia. Only the upper part of the main altar survived to our times. Polychromies in the Church were made by Nysa painter Charles Dankwart - author of polychromies in the Basilica of Jasna Góra.
