The Greek Catholic church dedicated to the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos (a Catholic church since 1976), was probably erected at the beginning of the 18th c, it was renovated in 1792, in the 19th c and in 1975. After 1951 the church remained abandoned. The chapel in Rownia belongs to the few tripartite dome churches in the southeastern Poland.
