The ‘Alma Mater Varsoviensis’ exhibition presents the history of Warsaw University, founded in 1816. The exhibits, often of high artistic value, document the fascinating and sometimes tragic past of the college. In addition to the university banner, rectors and professors' insignias, badges and diplomas, there are also many objects illustrating 'normal' college life: stamps, indexes, manuscripts, scientific instruments used in the experimental fields and personal memorabilia.
