Museum collections were meaningfully enlarged in the second half of XXth century. In 1980, the museum received a town house adjoining to the hitherto edifice, which made an exihibition possible to expand. The museum of Opole Silesia gathers archaeological monuments and other ones from researches made in Opole and in the region ( from the Stone and Iron Ages to early Middle Ages); and also monuments of the history of Opole, ethnography and art.
