Gas Museum is housed in the old gasworks building, which was built in 1902 and supplied gas to the town until mid-1977.
Currently, the gasworks is the museum entirely dedicated to gas. It is the only place in Poland, with full equipment for the production of town gas. The museum presents a complete range of various gas appliances in households. A special attraction is a unique collection of gas metres - dating back to the last century.
A thorough modernization of the museum was completed in 2007. It was transformed the exposition area into a modern exhibition and training centre that combines tradition with technological innovations. Interactive exhibitions show the history of domestic and industrial gas, raising awareness on this subject.
