The preserve aims at keeping the natural forest varieties. A plant community characteristic of Drohiczyn`s Heights is a mixed stand forest which makes up the last fragments of Nurzec Wilderness.
Partial preserve was established in 1990 and it covers an area of 44,17 ha. It provides the possibility to seee one of the oldest monuments of nature: the pedunculated oak which is located there. The 350-yaer-old oak is widely knon as ths "father of oaks". the diameter of the trunk of the oak at 1,30 cm from the ground is 520 cm, its heigft is 32m.this tree was declared a monument of nature in 1955.
