The Dunajec River Gorge, running through the limestone mountain range of Pieniny, is one of the most beautiful river gorges in Europe. Since the 19th century, raft trips have been organized so tourists can admire the unique landform in this area. The route is 15km long and runs from the rafting harbour in Katy to the town of Szczawnica. The Dunajec River has many sharp bends in this stretch which are surrounded by beautiful mountain walls, some reaching as high as 300 metres.
