Wawel
Wawel Castle is the most splendid monument of Polish architecture. 1038-1596 it was the residence of kings of Poland and after moving the Polish Capital to Warsaw it still was the place of burial and coronation of Kings. The traces of magnitude history and past splendor are still visible here. Style prevailing in Wawel is renaissance which was established by the King Sigmund I the Old. You can still find here the traces of previous epochs: pre-Romanesque, Romanesque and Gothic.
Since 1978 Wawel Castle is in the UNESCO monuments world list.
