Chochołowska Valley – with crocuses
The Chocholowska Valley, located in the Western Tetras, is the longest and largest valley in this mountain range. Its area is more than 35km², and its length is approx. 10km. It is the natural habitat of many wild animals like bears or marmots as well as a deer rutting site and gladly chosen as a tourist destination. There is a hostel of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society on the Chocholowska Clearing, where Pope John Paul II met with Lech Walesa with his family in June 1983.
