What was Chopin\u2019s last home in Warsaw?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At 5 Krakowskie Przedmie\u015bcie<\/strong>, the Czapski Palace<\/strong> marks another important point on the Chopin trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chopin lived in an annexe of the palace with his family from 1827 until 1830. It was his last Warsaw home before he left Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, the building is home to the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, while the Chopin Salon<\/strong> commemorates the family\u2019s former apartment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 24 February 1818<\/strong>, eight-year-old Chopin performed at a charity concert held at the palace. It is regarded as his first public performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another important location is Krasi\u0144ski Square<\/strong>. In Chopin\u2019s time, the National Theatre stood here. Chopin died in Paris in 1849 and was buried at P\u00e8re-Lachaise Cemetery. His heart was brought back to Poland by his sister Ludwika and placed inside one of the church\u2019s pillars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
