Rymanow-Zdroj<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rymanow-Zdroj is a spa village which is an administrative part of the Rymanow Municipality in the county of Krosno and located in the Subcarpathian Province. It lies in the valley of the River Tabor, about 4km to the south of the city of Rymanow. This piedmont characteristic spa resort is surrounded by the densely wooded Rymanow Uplands which are part of the Lower Beskid Mountain Range. The climate in Rymanow-Zdroj is both moderately and highly stimulating with certain characteristic features of a mountain climate. The moderating factor of this climate is the humid atmosphere which has a high content of essential oils and iodine. The unique climatic conditions and natural mineral water springs are the basic elements used at the spa resort. Work on the construction of spa facilities started immediately after completion of analysis of the water springs, including those adapted for the treatment of children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, the destruction of the entire spa infrastructure caused by two World Wars, made it impossible to continue operating as a health resort. What had been rebuilt between the wars again fell into disrepair. The decision to rebuild parts of the spa was taken shortly after cessation of hostilities but it was not until the early 1960’s the resort could welcome visitors throughout the entire year. The spa hospitals were opened for use by adults and children and today are specialised in medical, both hospitalised and outpatient, and early cardiac rehabilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discovery of the mineral springs in 1876 marked the beginning of the history of Rymanow-Zdroj. The occurrence of healing waters in the neighbouring village of Iwonicz-Zdroj for hundreds of years prompted the owners of estates around Rymanow, Anna and Stanislaw Potocki, to look for similar sources in the surrounding mountains and the valley of the Taba River, today the River Tabor. The springs discovered here showed a strong concentration of iodine and iron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1980 a newly built mineral water bottling plant was opened in the village of Deszno, to the south of the resort. Rymanow-Zdroj has actually existed since 1876 but not until 1996, on the 120th anniversary of the discovery of mineral springs, have Rymanow City Council created the village of Rymanow-Zdroj officially which was made up of the exiting rural districts of Deszno, Woltuszow and the southern sections of the village of Posada Gorna and having a total area of about 1625 hectares. There are several peaks surrounding the village which include Zabia Gora (481m) and the double peaked Dzial (673m and 668m) located in the confluence of the Czarny Potok and Tabor Rivers. To the west there is Mogila (606m), Glorietka (572m) and Sucha Gora (611m) and to the east, Zamczyska (568m) and Kopiec (635m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rymanow-Zdroj offers treatment of respiratory, cardiovascular and urinary tract diseases as well as musculoskeletal disorders but specialises in the treatment of children with kidney diseases, cerebral palsy, hip dysfunction, allergies and rheumatism. The resort also has teaching facilities, ranging from primary to high school, to ensure continuity of education of children have to remain for treatment. Extracurricular educational activities are conducted throughout the year, even during holidays, half term and bank holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resort also offers cryotherapy treatments with low temperatures ranging between -120\u00b0C and -140\u00b0C. The short stay in the specialist chamber, between one and three minutes, is closely supervised by a specialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with treatment and rehabilitation, Rymanow-Zdroj has the ideal conditions for the regeneration of the body in an uncontaminated natural environment. The numerous hiking, cycling and skiing trails with varying degrees of difficulty provide active entertainment for visitors to the region. There are also playing fields, a swimming pool and tennis courts and, in winter, a ski lift. For those that prefer summer holidays there is swimming in the River Tabor, which flows through the spa resort, or sunbathing along its beaches.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
