Contemporary Corpus Christi festivities are celebrated on Thursday after the Holy Trinity. Priests from the local parishes lead this colorful procession through the streets of cities, towns, and villages. The parishioners pay a visit to sacred places, especially crosses and chapels. Four field altars are set up along the path so the faithful can listen to the gospel. Flowers and branches adorn and decorate the route of the procession. Children in folk costumes taking part in the parade scatter flowers on the road. Everyone sings songs and litanies. In Spycimierz, Corpus Christi is particularly highlighted with a beautiful floral arrangement that forms a colorful carpet for the procession goers. This riveting tradition dates back over 200 years.
