Poznan old market square and town hall

Poznań is the picturesque capital of Wielkopolska province and a significant economic, commercial, scientific, cultural, and tourism hub in Western Poland. It is home to the country’s most important trade-fair complex and possibly the most spectacular Town Hall.

Any talk of Poznań inevitably begins with a mention of its Renaissance Town Hall – as you would be hard-pressed to find a more exquisite example of the style, elegance, and grace anywhere else in Poland. Among its extraordinary features, you’ll find mechanical billy-goat figures who pop out to butt heads every day at noon! Poznań has several other draw cards, including Poland’s only painting by Claude Monet and the delicious sweet treat known as St. Martin croissants. This 1,000-year-old city on the banks of the Warta River has much to be proud of – it even has its own local dialect. Join Jonathan Thompson of the Adventure Cities on the Discovery Channel on 09/25/2022 at 7:30 am and 10/01/2022 at 5:00 am to explore more of the town.
