Swietokrzyski National Park

The Swietokrzyskie Mountains, the oldest range in Poland, are formed from Paleozoic rocks. Particular attention should be drawn to the small, totally deforested areas, called goloborza, covered with quartzite boulders and completely stripped of vegetation.

The ridges of the Lysogory Range are covered with fir forests mixed with pine, beech and larch. The park’s rich plant population includes many rare species of mountain and lowland plants. The king of the park’s wildlife, and its emblem, is the deer.
