The Battle reenactment of Grunwald
In the battle of Grunwald on 15 July 1410 the Polish king Władysław II Jagiełło won over the Teutonic Knights. This was one of the hugest battles in the Middle Ages. Festivities on this anniversary will last from 14 till 16 July this year. These are the so-called Grunwald-Days. The reenactment of the battle, in which 1250 performers will attend, will take place on 15 July (Saturday) at 3 p.m.
About 4500 knights together with their families will be accommodated in an atmospheric camp, starting from 12 July.
Nearby the camp 100 “medieval craftsmen” will make products in the medieval way. They will forge swords, weave fabrics, cook food according to medieval recipes, etc. Not only can you look at their work but you are welcome to buy these products as well. The Knights’ camp, the medieval craftsmen’s town and the reenactment of the battle will bring the Middle Ages and the life of knights closer to the viewers.
