Easter Market in Krakow
From 23rd of March to 2nd of April 2018, the Main Market Square in Krakow will be turned into traditional Easter Market. The products offered on the stands are primarily Easter related articles: reeds, baskets, palms, candles, muffins, hand-painted porcelain, jewelry, regional products like tablecloths, moccasins, braids, and sweets. Cracovians and tourists visiting the Easter Market will have a chance to taste traditional Polish cuisine: grilled dishes, boiled dumplings with buckwheat and pork, with cabbage and mushrooms, with lentils and dried tomatoes, with meat, spinach and feta cheese, broad bean and bacon, with fruits. You will also find traditional Polish soups: zurek, kwasnica, tomato soup, garlic soup, pumpkin soup, Ukrainian borsch, pea soup and mushroom soup. It will be possible to try a very popular slice of bread with lard and garlic butter, bacon, onions, and cucumbers.
There will be also tasty sausages, highlander cheeses (oscypek), Hungarian pancakes, Lithuanian meats and dark bread, honey, dried fruit desserts, roasted nuts, almonds, sunflower, fruits in chocolate and marzipan, homemade cakes and traditional gingerbread. For the youngest lovers of sweets exhibitors prepared lollipops in the shape of eggs, hearts, and characters from
favourite fairy tales.
The fair is also accompanied by numerous events, among others: a demonstration of palm and Easter ceremonies, a demonstration of traditional regional Easter tables, the blessing of food. On Holy Saturday, March 31st at 10:00 am, you will have a chance to see traditional of Easter tables. You will be able to buy, among others, traditional sour soup, horseradish soup, and Easter soup eggs served in a variety of ways, tasty home-made sausages. There will be also Easter cakes, such as Mazurek.
