Are you ready for adventure in Eastern Poland?
Green Velo Eastern Cycling Trail is the most spectacular cycling project in Poland. It consist of 2000 kilometres (1240 miles) of specially planned route, designed with focus on the joy of travel and discovery. The trail leads through the five eastern Polish provinces: (Warmia-Mazury, Podlasie, Lublin, Podkarpackie and Swiętokrzyskie). Visiting each one of them is an extraordinary experience, and all of them seems to be like a journey through fairy tale!
What to see?
Along the route you can expect over 8 000 km of marked bike trails and hundreds of notable tourist attractions. The route leads through five national parks and a number of preserved areas. In the northern part of the trail stretches along embankments of the old railway lines. While on the trail you can visit 12 "Cycling Paradise" areas - attractive regions where we can plan a longer stay. Among them you can find numerous monuments which are an important part of Polish cultural heritage, including cathedral in Frombork, castle in Lidzbark, monastery complex in Suprasl, the former Jewish town of Tykocin and Leżajsk, the city of Chelm. Wlodawa and Szczebrzeszyn known for its multicultural heritage, Bug River, shrines of different faiths in Kostomloty. Castle Lancut, the medieval city of Sandomierz, and the ruins of a Renaissance castle in Ujazd.
