The cuisine of the region is a mix of local and more sophisticated dishes. Dumplings made of potato flour and filled with plums, sometimes meat or some sweet cheese are local specialties. Groats served with milk, or, alternatively, with peas, pork dripping or butter are equally popular. Apart from restaurants specialising in local cuisine, some also offer Polish and European dishes.
