The small manor house of Chopin in Duszniki Zdroj is a place, in which from a few generations world-class artists and admirers of the music of Chopin and pianisms are meeting.

First Festival was on 25-26 August 1946, it celebrated composer's stay in Duszniki 120 years earlier. The list of excellent pianists and amazing compositions of Chopin , no more in Reinerz but in polish Duszniki , started Zofia Rabcewiczowa and Henryk Sztompka Zofia Rabcewiczowa as Chopin, donated the proceeds to orphanage Bracia szkolni . From that time every year Chopin's music is coming back to Duszniki. Chopin Festival became important for culture of region and country and became international event. During the oldest music festival in Poland and one of the oldest in Europe take part all outstanding pianists playing Chopins music, and most of winners of Chopin Contests. Festival ennoble pianists. In Duszniki performed such pianists as Edward Auer, Wladimir Aszkenazy, Ryszard Bakst, Halina Czerny-Stefanska, Zbigniew Drzewiecki, Raul Koczalski, Ewa Bandrowska-Turska, Stanislaw Szpinalski, Barbara Hesse-Bukowska, Lidia Grychtolowna, Adam Harasiewicz, Fu Tsong, Jan Ekier, Bella Dawidowicz, Ikuko Endo, Regina Smendzianka, Piotr Paleczny, Garrick Ohlsson, Krystian Zimerman, Paul Badura-Skoda, Stefan Askenase. Work of Chopin Festival is enormous and immeasurable. It is not possible to measure emotions of artists and listeners and commitment of organizators , thanks to them name Duszniki Zdrój for lot of polish people and numerous foreigners associate with name of the greatest polish pianist and composer. Practical initiative is also part of Festival, realy important part for standard of music art: for 20 years in time before festivals there are master classes organized in spa by the river Bystrzyca Dusznicka. Young pianist all over the world attend this classes, improving ther skills thanks to outstanding polish and foreign teachers. Continuation of concept of servis to music art is currently realised by The Foundation of the International Chopin Festivals . The concept of creating International Chopin Center in Duszniki Zdrój : institution which is the place of meeting not only music youth , not only educators but also virtuoses and all people professionaly interested in music.
