Bieszczadzki National Park stretches over an area of 29,200 hectares and is one of the biggest in Poland.The wildlife of the Park is extremly rich. There are many species of rare plants, big mammals, such as aurochs, bears, stags, wolves, lynxes, wildcats, big birds of prey-golden eagles, columbines etc. a special attraction for tourists are wide, mountainous grass meadows of subalpine forests, situated over 1150 metres above see level, called "połoniny" (mountain pastures).
