This park covers the central part of the Roztocze Mountain Range. Deep ravines divide the mountain slopes. The Wieprz and Tanew rivers wind their way gently across the park.
Forests, mainly beech and fir, cover 93 percent of the park’s territory. The rich flora includes lowland and highland species, as well as steno thermal species from South Eastern Europe.
The Roztoczański National Park can lay claim to 190 species of birds. Stud farms where Tarpans, Polish miniature horses, are bred, are very popular with visitors.
