This festival is currently the only theatrical event in the city that demonstrates the condition of the alternative and searching theatre, being and important voice in the dialog within the Polish alternative community.
Its main purpose is to offer a spiritual feast to the audience by presenting them a broad range of the most important phenomena of modern theatre. An important criterion of selecting artists is the nature of their theatrical activities that should be unconventional and experimental. During each edition of Modern Art Days the theatre invades the city as a number of open-air shows and street campaigns that are received by numerous audience. The event gives an opportunity to attend the best independent performances of the last theatrical season. For years the festival has been also presenting various domains of art and its interdisciplinary nature is apparent presentations of: the dance theatre, visual arts, paratheatrical shows, literature, musical projects, artistic movies. This way the dwellers of Bialystok take part in the modern dialog of great art.
