The International Meeting of Gypsy Ensembles Romane Dyvesa has been organized in Gorzów Wielkopolski from over 19 years.
The city is an excellent stage for presentation of Gypsy culture as far as many Gypsies were settled here in 1947 (after the WW II). Gorzow Wielkopolski has also been a living place of a famous Gypsy poet - Papusza (Bronislawa Weiss) who lived here from 1953 till 1983, and whose works are very precious together for Gypsy and Polish culture. The festival consists of concerts, workshops, lectures, poetic evenings and many other events connected with Gypsy culture like Gypsy market.
