The system of tourist road signs well-known in Western Europe and in the United States has also been gradually introduced into Poland. White and bronze signs placed at strategic points in cities and near interesting places inform drivers about architectural and natural monuments, places of religious worship etc. each sign includes not only information on the distance and name of a place and but are also illustrated with the silhouettes of the places, e.g. Jasna Góra. Theme tourist routes e.g. the wooden architecture of Małopolska, are marked in a similar way. Poland has entered the international system of marking interesting areas to be visited as has been done in other EU countries for many years to facilitate the discovery of our country and its heritage.
