The Old Town complex (16th and 17th c) is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city’s urban layout was designed to copy the plans of an ideal Italian urban model. Zamosc is the best-preserved Renaissance town in Poland. It has retained its attic-roof burgher houses, magnificent town hall, churches, and fortifications from the 16th and 19th centuries.
