This autumn Warsaw will be filled with the unique sounds and musical emotions of the La Folle Journee Festival / Crazy Music Days 2011 Les Titans. This largest international musical event explores a new face of classical music by showing that it can move anyone regardless of their age, dress, hairstyle or financial standing. Thanks to the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra the festival comes to Poland for the second time between 29th September and 2nd October.
Does classical music always have to be so serious? Nothing could be further from the truth. For four autumn days Warsaw will pulsate with such emotion that usually accompanies the largest rock festivals in Europe. Everyone will be able to get to know or rediscover works by Brahms, Mahler, Liszt, Strauss and Szymanowski. These five "Titans" are the leading characters of this year's Les Titans festival "La Folle Journee / Crazy Music Days".
Over the course of more than 70 concerts nearly 400 world-class artists will be presented to the audience. Participants of the festival, especially young people will have the chance to discover how much Franz Liszt had in common with John Lennon, what links Johannes Brahms with Jimi Hendrix or at what stage the biographies of Gustav Mahler and Michael Jackson come together and how all these strands are connected and wind through the creativity and passion which is released by music.
The programme for each of the Crazy Music Days is made up of dozens of short concerts, not more than 45 minutes, which will take place simultaneously on several different stages. These stages will be in the Grand Theatre (Teatr Wielki) - The National Opera (Opera Narodowa) and also on specially erected concert marquee on Theatre Square. This will allow participants a full freedom of choice which will create a personalised festival programme. Another incentive is the symbolic prices of tickets, 5PLN, 7PLN and 10PLN. Tickets have been on sale since 15th August 2011.
