The Wielkopolski National Park is located 15 kilometers south of Poznań, in the Wielkopolskie Lake District.

The park’s flora includes many rare and protected species.

The forest is home to wild boar, stag roe, deer, badger, fox, marten and hare. There are over 200 species of birds, both indigenous and migratory. Among those rarer are the European roller, kingfisher, black woodpecker and buzzard.

35 species of fish include tench, bream, eel and pike and the diverse family of invertebrate includes over 3,000 recorded species of insects.
