The church from the picture above was built in 15th century in a reasonable distance from the shore and existed in its original form until 1900. Interestingly, since that time sea-waves started devastation of this building. As a result of this about 100 years long process only one wall of the church survived.
The National Park of Table Mountains, where the crew worked for seven days in May 2007, is well known for its majestic and virgin character with fabulous rock formations and labyrinths. Andrew Adamson, the Director, has even planted a memorial tree in Kudowa Zdroj, a picturesque town in the Table Mountains also known for its SPAs.
The second set was the Karkonoski National Park where the crew stayed for four days in July Filming took place by the "Kamienczyk" waterfall, which is located near Szklarska Poreba, one of the tourist hot-spots of the Lower Silesia region.
