Due to the decline in popularity sea crossings in favour of the airlines a wide range if discounts and promotions have been introduced. Information on discounts for children, youths, families, seniors or some other categories, as indicated by the ferry companies are available on respective price lists.
Types of ticket
There are a wide range of tickets available for ferries. In addition to the standard selection of tickets there are also reduced prices for children, youths, families, seniors, organised groups and others, depending on the operator. There are also tickets without a specified return date, also known as open. With an open dated return you will need to contact the ferry operator no later than 7 days before the date you wish to travel to confirm your return journey. This usually involves paying an additional fee which is determined by the ferry operator.
What are the approximate prices of tickets?
Usually prices, to which the applicable port fee needs to be added, are quoted in foreign currencies, Euros or US dollars. The cheapest tickets, without a booked cabin, tend to be between PLN130 and PLN650 depending on the country of origin and the ferry operator whose services we choose. The price of crossings between Poland and the Scandinavian countries is between PLN170 and PLN400 per person.
Reservations and taking cars on the ferries
Booking a ferry crossing involves completing a booking form. Passengers travelling with their cars must also supply the make, model and registration number of their vehicles. An additional charge is levied by the ferry operator for the shipment of any vehicle.
