The cost of travelling by coach within Poland is similar to the rail travel. Young people and students are entitled to discounts. Minibus services run between smaller locations and their fares are often competetive.

Tickets

Ticket prices depend on the class of transport and the length of the route. One way coach tickets are also available. If you have to change coaches during your trip you will be required to buy a ticket for each leg of the journey. Tickets are stamped with the date and time of departure and are only valid for the designated trip.

For a coach trip across Poland from the south to the north (i.e. from the mountains to the sea) you could pay, depending on the coach class, between PLN 60 and 100. The fares between major cities in Central Poland (e.g. from Warsaw to Krakow) will cost around PLN 40 and 50.

You may ask the ticket attendant about special promotional prices and available discounts.

Where to buy tickets?

The most convenient place to buy your ticket is from a travel agent or at a coach terminal. It may be possible, although not recommended, to buy it from the coach driver. When there are many passengers queuing up for seats those with the ticket in hand will be served first. Coach seats are usually numbered, although this may not be the case with smaller coach operators.

Transport of luggage and pets

Pets can travel, but at an extra cost. For conditions concerning the transportation of large pieces of luggage, bicycles, etc. please enquire locally with the service operator.
